The successes in building resilience of the earthquake-affected community were possible due to the high level of engagement and active leadership of the community and by adopting the BBB approach. The approach focused on mainstreaming Disaster Risk Resilience in each of its intervention related to shelter, livelihood, water and sanitation, and further built the local capacities by organizing and equipping the community with disaster preparedness skills.
